  • Share your knowledge or stories about flags.
  • Design a new flag or redesign an old one.
  • Join your local vexillological association.
  • Organize or participate in a Vexiday event.

2016 Events

Croatia

The Croatian Heraldic and Vexillological Assocation (Hrvatsko grboslovno i zastavoslovno društvo, HGZD) will be marking World Vexillology Day at the Fifth National Congress of Croatian Historians (Zadar, Croatia, 5 through 8 October). For details, contact Željko Heimer.

Georgia

Vexiday will be celebrated on the last day of the first Georgian National Conference of Vexillology and Heraldry (in Tblisi, 29 September to 1 October 2016).

India

The Indian Vexillological Association (IVA) will be hosting a display of national flags in Nalgonda. For details, contact IVA President Kambhampati Sanjeeva Rao at sanjeevarao1963@yahoo.com.

Italy

Bandiere Storiche and the  Italian Center of Vexillological Studies (Centro Italiano Studi Vessillologici — CISV) are hosting a day-long celebration of flags at the Sforza Castle in Milan.  See www.cisv.it/milano16.html for details.

Poland

Polskie Towarzystwo Weksylologiczne celebrates Vexiday by inviting new members to join their association. Sign up at weksylologia.pl. They will hold a meeting and everyone sharing our interest is invited. To celebrate Vexiday they encourage you to hang out your flags from balconies to show your adoration for our joint endeavour-vexillology. Visit their website for more information.

Join the Spanish Vexillological Society in celebrating Vexiday at their 31st National Congress of Vexillology in Segovia, 22-23 October 2016.

United States

District of Columbia

Nick Artimovich of the Chesapeake Bay Flag Association (CBFA) will have a display of 14 historic American flags at the Department of Transportation offices in Washington, DC. To arrange a visit, please contact Nick at nicka21045@yahoo.com.

Maryland

Dale Grimes of the Chesapeake Bay Flag Association (CBFA) will have US World War II flags on display on the roadside near his home in Sparrows Point.

Oregon

At 2:00 pm members of the Portland Flag Association will be displaying flags and answering questions about them at Salmon Street Springs (at the intersection of Naito Parkway and SW Salmon St.) in Portland’s Waterfront Park.

Virginia

Peter Ansoff of the Chesapeake Bay Flag Association (CBFA) will be displaying flags from his collection on flagpoles at his home in Annandale, VA.
